A SMALL WORLD
(2024)
Playing on the threshold of a dance piece and a concert, A Small World reflect on acts of communal celebration in the connection between dance and music; inside events and interaction it searches for the places we come from, places that can be the beating heart of a body or the vibration of an instrument, places that can become a small world for everyone to feel invited. In a horizontal stage setting 3 musicians and 3 dancers, but most of all 6 people, shift from exuberant energetic scenes to poetic images and to moments exposing the sensitivity of each person’s bodies. Dancing and playing music together they create a performance where the audience is welcomed to feel, empathize, observe, and, along with the performers, to rejoice in a moment of communal joy.
